Dear Members and Friends of IBCZ,
By now, I’m sure most of you are aware that the Elders and Deacons met last week and concluded it is best to suspend “in person worship services” for the month of November. We will, of course, continue to live stream the services, with only a few to lead us in worshiping God through music, and several others providing the technical assistance joining me in the sanctuary. The services will also be recorded so they can be watched later.
This was not an easy decision, as we would obviously much prefer to worship with one another in the sanctuary. The sense of connectedness we have with each other as we gather and worship is so important. But with the Covid numbers rising so rapidly, we felt it is best for the welfare of all if we do not have this contact with each other during November. Our hope is that we will be able to resume our corporate worship in December. We will keep you posted through this newsletter, and also with announcements on our church website, Facebook, and during our live streamed services.
We ask that you please continue to keep IBCZ in your prayers. Please pray that our commitment to the church itself and to one another will remain strong, and perhaps even grow stronger as we await the time when we can gather once again. And as it relates specifically to the virus, let us be praying for those who are ill, for those who have lost loved ones, for all our governmental leaders in the decisions they must make, and that rapid progress will be made in finding both a vaccine and a cure.
Finally, be assured that the Elders and I are available if you have any needs that arise during this time. Please either write, text, or call if you have any concerns you need to share with us. I look forward to seeing all of you again – soon, I hope!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Bob
