Dear Members and Friends of IBCZ,
I want to share with you about several important opportunities we have as a church in the coming weeks.
First, Feb. 23-29 will be our annual Prayer Week. During this week, our hope is that all will join in praying for IBCZ. Each day we will highlight one of our ministries or some aspect of our life together. We will send out an email each day of that week with the prayer topic for that day. Please take a few minutes whenever it is convenient for you during the day to pray. We will close the Prayer Week with a Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 29, from 9:00-11:00. Along with breakfast, we will spend some time in a guided prayer session. It would be great if many can join us.
Related to that, we are offering an additional time for people to gather to pray. Of course, we have our regular prayer meeting on Wednesday evenings from 7:00–8:00. But many simply cannot come on a weeknight, and we understand that. So, we are offering another opportunity to meet for prayer – on Sunday mornings at 10:00. The main focus will be to pray for the upcoming worship service, but of course, other matters can be prayed for as well. This will take place in the small room to the left of the sanctuary (behind the drums).
Third, as I shared at our recent business meeting, it is so important that our faith be deeply rooted in the truth of God’s Word. As the world around us becomes more secular, we need to have a solid grounding for our faith. So, from time to time I will offer a teaching series on some important matter of our faith. Each series will last from 6–10 weeks. We will do this a few times a year. The sessions will take place before our Sunday worship – from 9:30-10:15 downstairs off the kitchen. The first series will begin March 1 and will be on the subject “The Person and Work of Jesus Christ.” The Christian faith is all about Jesus, so there is no better place to begin.
All three of these opportunities give us the chance to deepen our faith and contribute to the ministry God would do through IBCZ. Please be a part of it!
Grace and peace,
