Matthew 11: 28-30

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Society has moved on even since I was a lad and so has a mother’s role to some degree, but the pity of this is society somehow can now take a dim view of mothers (and women in general) if they do not fit into the current ‘norm’. However, ladies remember this, if you stand in Christ Jesus you do not need to fear any condemnation. You stand in His righteousness and are loved by God as His daughter because of Christ’s redeeming work on the cross which we celebrated just a few short weeks ago.

So, ladies, even though you might feel at a low ebb sometimes, please realise you are not condemned if you fail to provide what I may call “world’s standards” of parenting, or even the current world image of what a successful woman should appear like. What everyone, men and women, are to provide is a safe upbringing for all our children and give them a spiritual awareness in this material world.

On Sunday 5thMay we had another dedication of a child of one of our church family and it is incumbent upon all church members to help in the upbringing of this child however they are able. Of course, the mother will be the first point of providing a love that only a mother can provide but we are, through the Grace of God, able to provide a solid foundation and backup to aid both mother and child whenever we are called upon and however we may be able to assist.

I trust this  Mothering Sunday will be a special day in the year once again to all ladies in our fellowship, so I encourage you to attend IBCZ on Sunday May 12thto hear more on God’s will for our mothers, indeed all Christian women,  and men we too can once again focus on how we , as Christians, should be supporting all the females that we meet on a daily basis in our lives as best we can.

Our Scripture study will examine Matthew 11: 28-30

“Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

And I would like to think this word will lighten the load somewhat of any woman who feels wearisome living in today’s modern age.
