Whereas the sceptics say suffering is the greatest thread to the Christian faith, some of the Christians think God only wants us to experience the abundance of life. And by that they understand health, wealth, prestige and emotional highs – “we have the favor of God”, they say, and if bad things happen, God of course is not involved in it, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles on this side of heaven.
But is that really true? Why did Jesus say, “In the world you have tribulation? (John 16:33) ” How then shall we as Christians deal with suffering when it crosses our ways? Are there ways to respond the right way to it? Is there any benefit?
Remember, the apostle Paul writes, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:29)”
Join with us this Sunday to hear about the various kinds of ways God uses our suffering for our good.
